Warm greetings to you and your family!

When I think about gratitude, I think about Nchiliwau Galwersi. She’s one of the remarkable women I’ve been lucky to meet in my travels through Northern Kenya.

After being bitten by a snake, Nchiliwau lay in her hut for four days. She couldn’t eat or drink. No one thought she’d survive. Then a BOMA savings group offered a loan for life-saving medical care. Today, she’s a proud BOMA business owner.

“I’m grateful to be alive,” she says. “And I’m so thankful to be a part of these women.”

My life has been changed by my experiences in these villages, where women who live in stick huts speak with clarity about hard work, about progress, about gratitude and a good life.

On this day of thanksgiving, we send a message of gratitude — a short and heartfelt video — from Nchiliwau … to you.

Wishing you all the best,
