Nancy Wamwea
Nancy Wamwea isthe Portfolio Director, Standard REAP with over 29 years’ experience working in the Civic Society sector. She started her career as a high school teacher and later joined the Civil Society Sector. Her work has focused on the socio-economic empowerment of poor and marginalized children, youth and communities in urban informal settlements and rural areas, as well as empowering Kenyan citizens to internalize and exercise their constitutional rights, promoting gender equality and socio-political empowerment of women and girls, and civil society strengthening. Nancy holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education both from Kenyatta University. Nancy also holds a Diploma in Good Governance and Urban Public Planning from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS)- Netherlands. She loves serving others, more so the less privileged in society. During her free time, she loves listening to motivational talks or gospel music.
Edward Lempoko
Edward joined the BOMA Project in February 2019 as Finance Assistant in our Nanyuki office, and is now BOMA’s Finance Manager. Edward has over six years’ experience working in finance and as a native of Samburu, a deep familiarity with the northern region of the country. He has worked for Lewa Trading and Northern Rangelands Trust, and most recently was at the Berbera Electricity Company in Somaliland. Edward holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and a CPA, part 2 and is currently pursuing part 3.

Francis Elim Ngikito
Francis hails from Turkana County. He was immediate Project manager for USAID NAWIRI and former Graduation Advisor under USAID KLMS sub-award and worked closely with ACDI-VOCA and Mercy Corps team at LMS Project. Francis works on all aspects of programs implementation with over 13 years of experience working for local and international development organizations. Francis joined BOMA in January 2018 from Kenya Aid NGO’s Consortium (KANCO) where he was Project’s coordinator for USAID funded governance and accountability (Wezesha mashinani) project, alongside community TB program funded by the Global Fund. Prior, Francis worked at the Kenya Livestock Marketing Council (KLMC) on strengthening livestock marketing systems for resilience program funded by USADF as the Project coordinator and World Vision Kenya and Share International in different leadership portfolio.
Francis holds a Master of Science Degree in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Degree Associate in Theology, and a Diploma in Human Resource Management with certificates in community development, personnel management, and industrial relations.

Jaya currently serves as the Vice President & Chief Impact Officer at the BOMA Project.
Jaya brings over 20 years of experience in international development, nonprofit management and social impact innovation and scaling. Prior of joining the BOMA Project, Jaya served as the Executive Director of South Africa-Washington International Program in Washington, D.C., the Executive Director of Suffolk Partnership for Healthy Community in Suffolk, VA, Director of Global Health Programs at Physicians for Peace in Norfolk, VA, and the Director of Research for Physicians for Social Responsibility in Washington, D.C.
As an experienced nonprofit leader and manager, Jaya has worked and travelled extensively in Africa. In addition to her organizational management and new business development expertise, Jaya has published numerous articles, issue briefs, reports and books chapters on issues ranging from international development, global and community health and international security. She has provided briefings on these topics to members of the United States House of Representatives, the United States Senate, and the United Nations. She has been interviewed and quoted by many news sources including Reuters TV, CNN Money, the Associated Press, the Times of India, the Times News Service, National Public Radio, and the Voice of America.
Jaya holds master’s degrees in International Studies from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and in Political Science & Public Administration from Benares Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Jaya completed her Ph.D. course work in International Studies at Old Dominion University in 2000.

Anjum Khalidi
In her role as BOMA’s Senior Director of Development, Anjum Khalidi a key member of BOMA’s senior leadership team responsible for cultivating and expanding BOMA’s individual, foundation and corporate donor revenue. Anjum has dedicated her career to SDG1, ending poverty, and is especially passionate about women’s economic justice. She is a collaborative leader with an extensive track record of building lasting partnerships with funders and other key stakeholders—most recently at Trickle Up and prior to that at Women’s World Banking. Anjum holds an MPA from Columbia University and a BA from Syracuse University in Economics with a focus on women’s studies. In her spare time, you can find her reading or on the soccer field with her two kids.
Anna Mecagni
Anna Mecagni brings over 20 years of experience supporting the inclusive development of marginalized populations around the world. She most recently served as the Chief of Program Operations at AmeriCorps, a U.S. government agency that tackles the country’s most pressing problems through national service and volunteerism. Previously, she led program strategy and design at Women for Women International (WfWI), an NGO that supports women survivors of war through a gender-transformative graduation program focused on social and economic empowerment. Previously, Ms. Mecagni managed USAID-funded civil society and peacebuilding programs with FHI 360 focused on supporting community-led development activities, the organizational and technical development of local NGOs and engaging young people as positive agents of change. Ms. Mecagni started her career working on issues of forced migration and refugee rights both abroad and in the U.S. with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), World Relief, Human Rights First and Catholic Charities. She earned her Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of New Hampshire. Ms. Mecagni has lived and worked in Chad, Burundi, Mozambique and Senegal and she speaks French.
