"The forest is sacred to us, we need it to survive. But, for many, there aren`t any options to make money — so they come to the forest to harvest wood or make charcoal to sell. Even though they know it is harmful, they have no other choice.
Since BOMA [entered the community], I have seen the change for so many women. They can bring in enough money to feed their children. They no longer have to come to the forest to survive."
