As an organization whose very mission is rooted in the belief that all humans deserve to be empowered with economic opportunity and social justice, the BOMA Project stands alongside the protestors around the world decrying the unequal treatment of African Americans at the hands of the police.

However, addressing police brutality will address only part of the problem. What’s also needed is to acknowledge and tackle the systemic racism in our society in America and around the world. This racism is responsible for gaps in wealth, gaps in education, gaps in access to healthcare – all of which ultimately translate into a lack of opportunity for so many.

These words of Dr. King resonate in our actions at the BOMA Project: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

As we strive to empower people belonging to marginalized communities with opportunity, we stand in solidarity with every individual and every organization working to further the cause of economic and social inclusion, and bring an end to these inequalities for once and for all.
